Truly appreciate being able to preach when our regular minister is out of town. After preaching on Sunday morning, we did something slightly different on Sunday evening.
People typically leave congregations, organizations or companies because they are not appreciated. In other words, people go where they are celebrated, not tolerated.
What I promised was that everyone would get “golden nuggets” at the Sunday evening service. During this exercise, we taped blank sheets of paper to everyones back. The objective was for people to write on your back what they appreciate about you.
I then had everyone place them face down until the lesson was over. Let me tell you, people can’t wait to read what is written and it is better than golden nuggets. Celebrate each other!
